Teach it right and they will stay, teach it wrong and you'll push them away. We normally stay away from this type of topic, but really?

Every now and then you have to say; really? For example have you ever been in a game where the other team keeps stealing or scoring on pass balls when they are up by 10 runs or more? Really? It's disrespectful to the game of fastpitch softball don't do it! Really!
But that isn't what this article is about, while that's disrespectful to the game and the other softball team on the field, there are times when we as instructors, like those inexperienced coaches who run up the score because they want to pad their team stats, get just a little too deep, really! There is this old saying that says: "If you dig too deep you will find yourself alone." As instructors we're all trying to make a better point, or create better value to those following us, this separation can lead to more followers and yes it may help you sell more products, but really? Sometimes we dig just a little too deep. Here's where I'm going, I read an article today that started with this question "Should my 8 year old workout?" Really? This doesn't make this author/instructor bad after all they were just answering a question posed to them... but really?
Let's be careful... Instead of asking "should my 8 year old workout," and focusing on designing plans to build up their abs let's teach them how to have fun and start building their confidence! Let them be kids! Let's start by teaching them how to play catch and run properly! If they want to play softball at 8 years old I have news for you; "It's not about their core muscles or quick fibers, it's about having fun and learning the game!"
Sometimes the answer is no, and in our humble opinion this is one of those times...Really.
